Who Qualifies?


The Foundation provides both scholarships for individuals and grants to agencies.


When to Apply:


Beginning January 2010, anytime.


Scholarships:


The Foundation seeks to support students seeking scholarship aid who have demonstrated a heart for service to the community. These individuals are generally pursuing degrees at the college or graduate level.


Applicants who are given priority are students:


  1. who profess a genuine faith in Jesus Christ and seek, through additional training, to address the needs of fragile families today.

  2. who have demonstrated a pattern of volunteer service in their church and/or community.

  3. who are residents of western Washington, with secondary consideration given to residents of     California, Colorado and Hawaii.


Grants:


The Foundation also seeks to support non-profit organizations. Applicants that are given priority are agencies:


  1. who are addressing the needs of families, particularly “fragile families.”

  2. who operate in western Washington, with secondary consideration given to agencies operating in Arizona, California, Colorado and Hawaii.


How to Apply?


IMPORTANT:  We are NOW only accepting applications via regular mail. If you or your agency believe that you may qualify for a scholarship or grant, simply initiate the process by sending a one page letter to The Bohnett Memorial Foundation. The letter should be addressed to Mr. Jamie Bohnett, Bohnett Memorial Foundation, 7981 168th Ave. NE, Suite 220, Redmond, WA 98052.


This letter should include:


1. An introduction of the individual or organization

2. A summary of the agency's program or degree program

3. The total amount of the funds that are needed for the program

  1. 4.How this program will help achieve your organization's mission or assist you  in furthering your personal goals.


Other Information You Should Know


The Foundation will make every effort to respond to every request that falls within its geographical guidelines. The applicant will either receive an application form or a brief description of why the candidate is not eligible for a scholarship or grant at this time. The scholarship and grant range is generally from $1,000 to $1,500.


Usually, scholarships are provided on a one-time basis, and agencies that receive grants are asked to reapply at least one full year after receipt of a grant.
